In September 2018, he was included in the Auckland Aces squad for the Abu Dhabi T20 Trophy. He scored an unbeaten century for the New Zealand XI against England in a tour match in November 2019. However, he rapidly improved his game and was the leading run-scorer in the 2020–2021 Dream11 Super Smash tournament. He scored 512 runs at a strike rate of 18 in 11 matches for the Wellington Firebirds in the tournament.
